John Taylor Gatto will present a public lecture, question & answer and book signing on Friday February 12, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa Street in Madison. Mr Gatto is the well-known author of many books, including Dumbing Us Down, and his most recent, Weapons of Mass Instruction. After being named three times New York City Teacher of the Year, and then New York State Teacher of the Year, he left teaching and has gone on to become one of the most progressive and insightful critics of institutional education in this country. Mr Gatto’s appearance is sponsored by The Unschooling Conference, and HOME, a Madison-based homeschooling support group.
