Middleton's Capital Brewery Wins Awards for its Brews
It has been said that everyone collects something and for Capital
Brewery, it seems to be awards.
At the 2009 World Beer Championships, put on by the Beverage Testing Institute
in Chicago, Capital Brewery expanded their collection.
The Beverage Testing Institute, in Chicago tastes and rates beers, wines, and
spirits in a variety of different categories for each. The BTI works on a 100 point scale.
This year Capital Brewery’s Oktoberfest scored a 92, Capital Dark a 90, Capital Pilsner a 92, and Autumnal Fire came in at 93. These scores garner them all a rating of “Exceptional”.
“We are very proud of the beers we produce and these awards are just
confirmation of the quality of our beers.” says Capital Brewery’s Brewmaster Kirby
Nelson.
These are not the only awards bestowed upon Kirby’s offerings this year. At the
United State Beer Tasting Championships, the Autumnal Fire was named Regional
Champion.
At the North American Brewers’ Association awards Capital’s spring limited
release Blonde Doppelbock was awarded a bronze, Wisconsin Amber silver, and Imperial Doppelbock brought home the gold.
Capital Brewery’s Bavarian Lager brought home a gold medal at this year Great
American Beer Festival in Denver, CO, put on by the Brewer’s Association.
The Wisconsin Amber also won gold at the 1st Annual Canfest held in Reno, NV,
a festival celebrating craft beers available in cans.
Capital Brewery Company, Inc. is a Middleton, Wisconsin based brewer of
traditional world-class beers. In November of 1998, it was named the top brewery in
America by the Beverage Testing Institute of America in Chicago, Illinois, an
independent panel of international beer experts.
