Local Conference for Woodland Owners
On Saturday, February 23, 2008 the Madison Area Woodland Owners Conference will feature presentations in the morning that focus on examining climate change and its impacts to Wisconsin woodlands, explore the reasons for species movement and changing ecological communities including how we have accelerated that pace, and look at the impacts on invasive species to our Wisconsin woodlands. The afternoon program will investigate wood products as biofuels and how to reduce fire fuels in the wildland urban interface. The day will close with a look at how to manage land transfers to the next generation. In addition to the program there will also be educational and commercial exhibits to view.
The February 23rd conference runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes coffee and rolls, lunch, and handout materials. The registration fee is $30 if you register before February 11th and $35 for a late or onsite registration.
