Artamos Specialty Meats & Deli in Madison closed

Artamos Specialty Meats & Deli, Madison's first all organic and grass-fed meat retailer, closed its doors in early April this year after not quite five years in business.

According to a typed note taped to the door, Artamos closed because of increased competition, rising supply costs and the economic crisis.

Artamos was located at 714 S. Whitney Way in Madison.
