Help benefit South African AIDS orphans and vulnerable children at a local fundraiser on August 2! This year’s Africa Alive festival, hosted by Kidlinks World Inc., will be held at Capital Brewery in Middleton on August 2, 2008 from 2pm until 8pm. Africa Alive is a fundraiser, from which 100% of the proceeds raised will go directly to benefit AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Southern Africa. Africa Alive also provides entertainment for the whole family and an opportunity to get people excited about helping children in another part of the world.

Africa Alive 2008 entertainment will include: Tony Brown & The 608 Riddim Section, African Dancing and Drumming and Spoken Word Poetry. There will also be a youth costume contest, brewery tours, auctions, raffles, stilt walkers, jugglers, face painters, African crafts, international cuisine, door prizes and more! JOIN US for the excitement of Africa Alive 2008!

Kidlinks World, Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization that is based in Madison and is 100% volunteer-run and donor-funded. Kidlinks has been in existence since 2004 and is dedicated to improving the lives of the world’s most underserved children. Currently, all of Kidlinks’ efforts are focused on AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Southern Africa, as well as AIDS education for Madison youth.

Kidlinks has three partner organizations in South Africa: Ikageng Itireleng AIDS Ministry, Leratong Preschool and the Kei Mouth schools. Through these partnerships, Kidlinks is reaching over 3,000 AIDS orphans and vulnerable children. Kidlinks supports each of these organizations through regular financial contributions, food gardens, sewing co-ops, playgrounds and school assistance. Each year, Kidlinks members and volunteers travel to South Africa to assist these organizations and build lasting relationships.
