Community GroundWorks at Troy Gardens Hires Directors
Madison-based Community GroundWorks at Troy Gardens (CGW) today announced that Jill Jacklitz has joined the organization as Executive Director. Christie Ralston has named to the newly created Associate Director position and will also maintain her role as coordinator of the Troy Gardens Natural Areas.
A longtime Madison resident, Jacklitz has led and facilitated outreach for the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families and is a lecturer at the UW School of Social Work. She combines two decades of non-profit management with a personal interest in sustainable living, food security, health and learning.
"During my 20 year career in progressive non-profits I have worked directly with kids and families, lobbied for policy change at the state level and educated the public on issues important to the health and well-being of kids. I am excited to use my skills to help CGW increase its impact as a leader in urban agriculture."
Ralston has been with Community GroundWorks (formerly Friends of Troy Gardens) for four years, serving as officer manager and manager of the Natural Areas, before stepping into the Interim Executive Director roll in 2009. In her new position, Ralston will build capacity and outreach in support of CGW’s growing roster of educational programs.
