The Friends of the UW Geology Museum will be hosting the third annual fundraising event at the Capital Brewery on Saturday, August 8, 2009, starting at 6:30 pm. The event is open to all and kids are encouraged to attend. The highlight of the evening will be the showing of the movie “Journey to the Center of the Earth” beginning at dusk. Prior to the movie, there will be games for kids, live music by “Mud Music”, and fossils and minerals, for viewing and sale. There is no charge for this event, but donations are welcome. Bring a picnic dinner and join the fun. Start: 8:00 pm

Bring your young explorer to this two day program to learn about nature’s worst jobs and the fascinating survival tools used by these highly specialized animals. Restored prairie, savanna and wetlands near the Visitor Center provide an example of what Dane County looked like in the 1830s. Restoration was an unknown adventure when started here in 1934. Many different trials have resulted in what is here today. | ||
