Help your tot discover the wonders of nature at this fun two day program! Tots will use their imaginations to climb to the tops of trees and learn about the birds, animals and insects that live there.

This program is appropriate for children aged 4-5.

The Friends of the UW Geology Museum will be hosting the third annual fundraising event at the Capital Brewery on Saturday, August 8, 2009, starting at 6:30 pm. The event is open to all and kids are encouraged to attend. The highlight of the evening will be the showing of the movie “Journey to the Center of the Earth” beginning at dusk. Prior to the movie, there will be games for kids, live music by “Mud Music”, and fossils and minerals, for viewing and sale. There is no charge for this event, but donations are welcome. Bring a picnic dinner and join the fun.

Arboretum Walk: "Grady Tract." With lavender liatris and yellow coneflowers, the prairies are alive with color that attracts viceroy, monarch and other butterflies. Meet at the Grady Tract parking lot located at the southeast corner of the Beltline and Seminole Highway intersection.

Nature’s Worst Jobs Summer Nature Program for Kids
at Aldo Leopold Nature Center

What do dung beetles, scarab beetles, turkey vultures and rabbits have in common? They all do “dirty jobs” in nature! Bring your young explorer to this two day program to learn about nature’s worst jobs and the fascinating survival tools used by these highly specialized animals.

This program is appropriate for children aged 8-10.
