Lambing Time on the Farm
Bounce into spring with a visit to the A-Z Farm lambing barn. Come see newborn lambs as a family or as an individual. See lambs nursing, bouncing around their mothers and learn more about these wooly creatures. It may be possible to witness the birth of a lamb. There will be chicks, bunnies and other animals to see and touch. Visitor will be able to ask questions and see interesting farm related displays. Animals, vendors, activities and displays to be in the sheep barn.

In response to diminishing capacity at our landfills, and the need to keep toxic materials out of our air and water, government and business work to expand the list of materials that can be re-used or recycled. During this program we will explore recycling resources to help us all move closer to “zero waste”.

Sat. March 22nd 11:30 am Wilmar Center (953 Jenifer St.) Free Meal and Movie Series Continues with: Besieged. Director Bernardo Bertolucci’s parable of love: “He who would save his life,will lose it; but he who would lose his life....” After her husband is arrested in Africa, Shandurai (Thandi Newton) flees to a villa in Rome where she works for an eccentric recluse who falls in love with her.

Arboretum Class: "Populations in the Prairie." Look at familiar plants and animals in a new way by building simple models and animations to explore how populations spread and grow. Then test the effect different environmental factors can have. Find answers to questions such as: What do wild strawberries and staghorn sumac have in common? How many monarchs might we see on the prairie next year? Are all weedy species successful?

Arboretum Night Walk: "Skydance." The American woodcock is a funny-looking bird that has an amazing spring ritual for attracting mates. We can never guarantee that wildlife will appear on cue, but we can usually hear and see woodcock performances near the Arboretum Visitor Center. Naturalists will talk about the woodcock and other rites of spring that can be seen on a March evening.
